Scouts BSA - Volunteer
Cub Scouts
As a volunteer in the Cub Scout program, I have held a number of roles in Pack 1 Acton.
-
As webmaster, I designed their first website to provide a presence on the internet.
-
As cub master, I have helped to organize and lead programs to enrich the members of our pack, from grades K-5.
-
As a den leader, I created an advancement program that moved the children through the requirements to graduate to the next rank.
-
As a fundraiser, I organized and promoted our annual fundraising efforts and helped achieve our biggest fundraising haul ever - earning over $14,000 gross, over a two month period.

As a volunteer, I also took on the role of coordinator across four packs in the Acton/Boxborough Regional School District.
-
I helped to pull together and organized a four pack committee, to enable collaboration and information sharing as well as helping fellow volunteers.
-
I managed joint recruiting efforts, in order to drive our membership growth and ensure four healthy and functioning packs.

Scouts BSA Troop 284
As a volunteer for Acton Troop 284 in the Scouts BSA program, I have taken on several roles.
-
I worked with scouts to bring attention to opportunities for them to mentor cub scouts as a Den Chief.
-
I have taken on planning of a 5 troop 'Merit Badge University' to offer scouts an opportunity to earn merit badges toward advancement.
